SAVE THE EARTH!!!! ITS THE ONLY PLANET WITH CHOCODLATE :D

So a few weeks ago, ok fine a few months ago was Earth Hour. Even though almost every single country in the world turned off their lights, it was 1 hour, how much can 1 hour really do? Not much is the answer. Instead of once a year, I personally think that they should have Earth hour at least once every 2 weeks. Think of all the electricity we could save..... all the animal's lives we could save by not cutting down to build electricity dams. Even though most of us could not live without electricity, there are many people that go without. Why couldn't we try that for a while? Turning off the lights is only 1 small way to help. What if we turned off all electric items for 1 hour twice a week? Imagine all the power we would save! Its phenomenal.

Another way to help save our precious planet is cutting down on transportation. Buses, cars, motorcycles, airplanes, boats, etc. Every single one of these transportation devices helps to wear down our ozone layer. The worst part is, most of us aren't trying to do anything about it. Why cant people carpool more? Why cant people use buses instead of cars? Why cant we use bicycles instead of motorcycles? I mean seriously there is basically no difference between them! Why cant people just walk? or jog? All those hours of sitting in front of a TV aren't exactly good if your trying to weight watch. So why not go outside and walk to your favorite restaurant? Walking your pets is also important for you as well as them. You don't want them to end up like couch potatoes either do you?

The last 2 that I am going to list is turning things off when you are done and RECYCLE. When you leave the room turn off the lights. When you decide to go out, turn off the computer. When you are getting sleepy and feel like going to bed, turn off the TV for goodness sake. When you are done with something like a flashlight, turn it off so that you don't have to waste batteries, which, as you probably know, are very bad for the
environment.

My home, is a very green home. We always turn things off and we recycle EVERYTHING. And when I say everything, I mean everything. Plastic, cardboard, glass, can tabs, you name it, we recycle it. In my neighborhood many of the poor people of the streets ride around on their bikes asking people if they have any recyclables. My mom has everything in a separate cardboard box. When she finds one of these men (while we are out walking the dogs) she leads them to my house to collect our stuff. These men take this stuff and they get money for it. And at school, once a month there is a recycle which we always participate in. But by that time, we don't often have much because we have given it all to one of the men.

These are a few simple things you, yes you, can to to help save our Earth, the only planet chocolate (:
