Where Is Matt?

Wheres Matt? MATT??? No seriously, where IS he? London, Paris, or the Bahamas? With him, its hard to say. He could be in the South Pole for all we know.

I recently watched a movie called "Where The Hell is Matt (2008)". It was a very inspiring video about a guy trying to make world peace. He goes around to all these different countries (70 to be precise), and he dances. He starts doing a crazy dance, and then all the people around him join in. It's really cool because all he has to do is start dancing to some Swedish song, and then loads of people that live there start joining in. Its really great because lots of people get together and just let it all out, start randomly busting some moves. I love how he isn't one of those guys that has a really high opinion of themselves, just because their doing something good for the world. At one point he refers to himself as a "caveman", which I don't excally agree with. He is a very intelligent man, I mean look at what he's done to bring the world together? Something as simple as a dance move, can bring the world together as one. Personally, I find that pretty amazing, and yet extremely inspiring at the same time.

Its fascinating to think that everywhere around the world, everyone, all the people, the universal community, all want the same thing. We all want to live in peace, love, and harmony. But as we all know very well, that isn't going to happen, EVERYONE helps out. The only thing that's slowing us down from a perfect world, are those few people in every city, that really couldn't care less. Those people that say, oh well, I'm going to die eventually, it's not my problem, let the next generation take care of it. It's those people who are stopping us from creating our dream planet.

Let's just take a few seconds to imagine what that would be like, to live in a perfect world, with perfect people, perfect places, everything being perfect. You wake up and open your eyes, look around you and see your perfectly neat and tidy room. You get off of your beautifully soft and cushion-y bed, and place your feet on the smooth marble tiles, and pitter patter down the stairs into the kitchen where your steaming bowl of oatmeal is waiting for you. And of course there is a tall glass of milk waiting, in case the oatmeal burns your tongue.

I mean honestly, can you even IMAGINE that? But maybe people would get tired of that kind of perfect, I know I would. But I know for sure that nobody would ever get tired of the peace, love, and harmony kind of perfection. How could you?

I totally understand how Matt feels about wanting all of this, but it's a lot harder than you would think. There is no universal language (apart from math,) so it's hard to communicate with EVERYONE and get your message across to everyone. I'm still trying to get over the thought of how wonderful it would be to all live together as one, to unite as one nation, all speaking the same language; love.

Things I Love About Laughing/Smiling

Laughing:
  • It makes you feel great inside
  • If your laughing at something funny, then it creates memories and inside jokes for you and your friends, that you can look back on in 20 years from now
  • It creates some kind of positive energy in the atmosphere, light and fluffy, like whip cream
  • Laughing is contagious, when someone is laughing at something funny, then they show the other person, they both start laughing in unison
  • You don't have to only laugh if something is funny, but if you recall a good memory, or a happy time

Smiling:
  • It lets you show off those pearly whites
  • It's a sign of happiness, and gratefulness. When your opening presents, you smile after you open it right? To show your appreciation, even if you don't like the present. The smile shows a "thanks for thinking of me"
  • An old person who has lots of wrinkles along the lower part of their face, the wrinkles show that this person has lived a long and happy lifeWhen you receive a smile from somebody, it makes you feel warm inside, and when you smile at someone, it makes you feel good for shining a light on someones dark and gloomy day

So to everyone out there reading this post, keep smiling, keep laughing, and keep believing that universal peace, love, and harmony are possible, because every single person's hope counts.

Images:
Why I chose my image was because I thought it represented pretty well what Matt is trying to do. Connect everyone around the world together. This image shows people from all over the world, holding hands, and being together, just like Matt's goal.
